The Manchester Parks, Recreation, & Arts Department is partnering with OASIS to offer these programs. Aging with Grace (OASIS)

Aging in place is “the ability to live in one’s own home and community safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level.”  This one time class teaches modifications within the home to achieve healthier, safer, and easier living while promoting aging in place. A licensed Occupational Therapist provides information about various methods for home modification ranging from simple, low-cost solutions to complex, high-end solutions.

Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions (OASIS)

Developed and tested by Stanford University, Living a Healthy Life self-management course is for adults with chronic conditions. Studies show that participants experience greater energy, reduced fatigue, increased activity, better emotional health, and enhanced partnerships with healthcare teams after taking the class. Participants learn and practice skills such as problem-solving and goal setting, to cope with common symptoms, and frustrations of living with chronic illness. Sessions: 7 sessions, 2.5 hours each.
