The City of Manchester has been awarded grant funding to promote Municipal Waste Reduction through the St. Louis County Department of Public Health. The City has chosen to promote Backyard Composting through this grant opportunity.

On April 25, 2020, as part of the City’s annual Arbor Day celebration in Schroeder Park, the City will be offering a composting kit at a discounted price to residents of the City. Prior to the sale event, the City’s Parks, Recreation, and Arts Department will be holding a “Compost 101” class on February 22, 2020 to educate the community on the benefits of diverting waste from the landfill. More information on this class can be found in the Park, Recreation, and Arts Guide on the City’s website. You may also click on the link below to sign up for the class.
