We offer a variety of Sustainability and Eco-Friendly Programs for all ages and interests. We hope you will join us in one of these classes and in our fight to make the planet a little bit better! These programs have limited space and require pre-registration regardless of fee. 

Pollinator Hotels Workshop 

Join the creative folks of Perennial to make your very own pollinator hotel out of upcycled materials! You'll learn what types of materials attract certain beneficial insects as you cut and assemble your custom creation. Leave with a ready-to-hang mini insect hotel and lots of knowledge on the critters that inhabit our backyards!

The Buzz on Pollinators

What is a pollinator and how do they pollinate flowers? Discover a few of Missouri’s pollinators, and learn about ways you can “bee-friend” native pollinators. This program is presented through the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Stick a Fork in Food Waste

Food waste makes up nearly 22% of the waste we send to landfills. What are options, from field to fridge, to
change this situation? Facts plus encouraging, practical and money-saving actions.

Tree Walk Q & A

Walk through Margaret Stoecker Park with a Certified Arborist from Davey Tree as they identify common trees, talk about tree planting, tree care, and answer your questions!

Mini Macramé Workshop

Create a sweet mini macrame plant hanger using upcycled materials! In this workshop, Perennial staff will demonstrate how to cut down a yarn ball from salvaged t-shirts. You will then learn a few basic macrame knots, to create a hanging planter, perfect for displaying your smaller indoor plants!
