    Manchester Police Chief Scott Will invites residents, friends and anyone else to spend time with him talking about policing issues in Manchester. Come with questions, concerns or ideas that might enhance community policing. The Chief is willing to cover all topics and answer your questions in an informal setting. This initiative is part of Manchester City government’s commitment to transparency and openness. These “chats” are designed to allow easy and regular access to the Chief and other police command staff.

  2. Flags of Valor Display - Purple Heart Day

    August 7, 2020, All Day @ Margaret Stoecker Park

    The Manchester Flags of Valor collection will be displayed on Purple Heart Day, August 7th. Manchester has a proud collection of Flags of Valor. Part of the 15th anniversary display entitled “America’s Heartland Remembers,” these 26 American flags were some of the more than 7000 flying in remembrance on Art Hill in 2016, each flag an individualized tribute to a military hero who lost their life in the “War on Terror.” Also part of this important collection, an American flag that flew in the center circle of the 2016 Art Hill installation in honor of those heroes that lost their lives to PTSD, a recognition that the casualties of war occur on and off the battlefield. The Flags of Valor are displayed at the Veterans Memorial today.

    Bring chairs, small tables, dinner, drinks, fun people, etc. Our side concession stand window at the Aquatic Center will be open for business as well. Cash or card! Bathrooms will be available. You will set-up directly in front of your car only and play Bingo from the comfort and safety of your small area! Pre-register, space is limited. Only one person per car needs to register. Manchester Resident $15/car; Non-resident $18/car. When you get to the parking lot, we’ll assign you to a parking spot (at a safe social distance from other vehicles), and we will provide you with your disposable BINGO cards. You may also want to bring a clipboard, and don’t forget your dobbers/pens! Staff will be using the microphone and multiple speakers outside. If you win, yell BINGO or honk your horn! One of the attendants will be over to check the card and pass out the prize. Please wear a mask as you enter the parking lot, as well as when you win and need to claim a prize!

    Are your kids going stir-crazy? Are you? Here’s a fun idea you can still do around town to stay busy responsibly! Gocaching is an outdoor treasure hunting game using either a GPS-enabled device or the official Geocache app. Download it, navigate your way to a cache, read the clues and search for it. Some caches are tiny and others are boxes with trinkets inside, where you can take one/leave one. There are over 600 just in St. Louis County parks! Go to geocaching.com for more info. Stacey, a local geocaching enthusiast will be in Schroeder Park on Thursday, August 27 from 6:30-8pm. Come learn about this great activity that is especially good while social distancing! We encourage participants to bring their own laptops and/or smartphones allowing allow participants to follow along while distancing from others, but it is not required. Please pre-register.
