  1. Virtual 5k Run, Walk, & 1 Mile Fun Run

    May 6, 2020, All Day @ Will take place virtually

    How it works: go for your run or walk May 4th - 11th and use your favorite tracker (Map My Run, FitBit, Run Keeper, etc…). When you are finished you will enter your information in our tracking sheet, and upload your tracking app screenshot. Tag us on social media with your sweaty selfie to let us know you are participating by using the hashtag #ManMO5k. Once you register you will be given a unique “bib number” as well as a link to our tracking form. Please make sure you register everyone who is participating. Prizes will be awarded in each category. Winners will be announced on our social media and notified via email by May 15th.

  2. Window Decorating Contest Displays

    May 6, 2020, All Day @ Will take place around the town of Manchester

    The Manchester Parks, Recreation, and Arts Department invites you to decorate a window or door on your house based on your interpretation of Positivity & Resiliency. Much like our holiday light contest your window or door must be visible from the street for people driving by. We will create a map of all the streets that include displays so the community can drive around and vote on their favorites. We will not put your specific address out there. Only houses within the city limit of Manchester will be included in the map, but anyone is welcome to submit We ask that all displays stay up May 5th - 11th. We will use the pictures provided to allow the community to vote and comment on their favorites via Facebook, prizes will be awarded to the winners.

  3. All-Levels Flow Yoga - Cancelled

    This 60-minute yoga class will help both new and experienced students develop strength, balance and flexibility through the connection of movement and breath and with an emphasis on proper alignment. Classes typically begin with breath work to center and calm the body and mind, then transition to specific stretches designed to warm the muscles for a flowing series of traditional asanas, or poses, and ending with a relaxing shavasana to kick start your day. Please bring a mat.   1. Free Tours of the Republic Services Recycling Facility - Cancelled

    This is an educational opportunity hosted by the City of Manchester and Republic Services to learn the recycling process from when recyclables leave your home to becoming marketable materials. Get a behind-the-scenes peek at the equipment, employee operations, and the processing procedures. Attendees will meet at Schroeder Park and take a bus to the Hazelwood Republic Services Recycling Material Recovery Facility (MRF). Participants need the ability to navigate stairs without assistance. Trip times are 1) 9:30 am-12:30 pm and 2) 12:30-3:30 pm, including travel.
