Volunteer Opportunities

Join this group of wonderful people who want to give back to the community, you do not need to be a Manchester resident to volunteer with us!   In addition to helping out your community and making a few new friends, volunteering comes with its own perks- some may be special parking, additional event tickets, or park swag, but everyone walks away with a sense of community that you can only get by volunteering.

Park Volunteer

Our parks always need care and we could always use help to get it all done. Some jobs include getting the pool area and garden ready for the season, washing the playground equipment, spreading mulch, weeding gardens, planting bubs, and much more. This is very flexible as we have designed this to be a self-supporting volunteer activity. After approval and orientation, you will be able to come to Schroeder Park to check-in, get your necessary tools (provided), and then be on you own to do the particular activity that you choose.

Homecoming Festival & Carnival - Weekend after Labor Day
Interested in helping out at Homecoming? Want to be more involved and help with the planning? We would love to have you join us!

Special Events 4th of July, BeerFest, Tons of Trucks, Car Show, Concerts, 5K Runs, Senior Lunch & more!
The Manchester Parks Department hosts many special events every year and we look forward to working with the community to help make it all go as smoothly as possible. You could be helping with parking, hanging out at the pool front desk as a restroom attendant, picking up trash, or general helper duties.

Honeysuckle Hack
Help us combat this invasive species creeping through the parks and crowding out the native species. We will provide tools, but you will need to provide gloves.

Ongoing Park Care
If you like planting and helping preserve native park areas, join our regular park volunteers who help take care of Seibert & Stoecker Park! Contact us for more info.
