Responsibilities and Services

  • Administers Oath of Office for all City Staff and Elected Officials
  • Administers and maintains liquor licenses
  • Administers and maintains solicitors permits
  • Assists City Administrator and Department Heads
  • Attends all meetings of the Board of Aldermen
  • Certifies documents for City Departments and is a Notary Public
  • Posts Public Notices as required by law
  • Prepares all Board of Aldermen Meeting Agendas and Minutes.
  • Provides administrative support to the Mayor, Board of Aldermen and City Administration
  • Records requests pursuant to the Missouri Sunshine Law
  • Responsible for Voter Registration and Registration of Candidates for elective office with the City
  • Serves as Deputy Election Authority, coordinating with Board of Election Commissioners
  • Serves as Custodian of official records and official seal of the city, including: ordinances, resolutions, minutes and contracts consistent with state law and or regulations of the Secretary of State’s Office
  • Serves as a goodwill ambassador, coordinating tours for school groups and similar organizations
  • Testifies in Court, if needed to authenticate city records
  • Overseeing the quarterly publication of the City’s Message newsletter
  • Issues all liquor licenses
